LASIK Surgery
As you know, glasses and contacts were designed to correct imperfections for the human eye, but LASIK corrective surgery is a very efficient alternative to this! During your LASIK surgery, a special cutting laser will be used during your surgery to change the shape of your cornea that will correct your vision permanently. You can read more about LASIK surgery below!
Cataract surgery
When symptoms begin to appear, you may be able to improve your vision for a while using new glasses, strong bifocals, magnification, appropriate lighting or other visual aids. Think about surgery when your cataracts have progressed enough to seriously impair your vision and affect your daily life. Many people consider poor vision an inevitable fact of again, but cataract surgery is a simple, relatively painless procedure to regain vision.
Dry eye syndrome
Sometimes people do not produce enough tears or the appropriate quality of tears to keep their eyes healthy and comfortable. This condition is known as dry eye.
The eye uses two different methods to produce tears. It can make tears at a slow, steady rate to maintain normal eye lubrication. It can also produce large quantities of tears in response to eye irritation or emotion. When a foreign body or dryness irritates the eye, or when a person cries, excessive tearing occurs.
Diabetic eye disease
Diabetic eye disease refers to a group of eye problems that people with diabetes may face as a complication of diabetes. All can cause severe vision loss or even blindness. Diabetic eye disease may include:
- Diabetic retinopathy – damage to the blood vessels in the retina.
- Cataract – Cataracts develop at an earlier age in people with diabetes.
- Glaucoma – A person with diabetes is nearly twice as likely to get glaucoma as other adults.
Age related macular degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration, often called AMD or ARMD, is the leading cause of vision loss and blindness among Americans who are age 65 and older. Because people in this group are increasingly larger percentage of the general population, vision loss from macular degeneration is a growing problem.
AMD is degeneration of the macula, which is the part of the retina responsible for the sharp, central vision needed to read or drive. Because the macula primarily is affected in AMD, central vision loss may occur.
